Economic growth to slow against last year but remain ‘robust’ – Central Bank

Economic growth is expected to remain slightly below the 4% seen last year while remaining “robust” until 2028, the Central Bank has said. In an economic forecast published Thursday, the bank said Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth would reach 3.8% this year, before dipping to 3.6% the next. 2026-2028: Growth expected to remain resilient - Central Bank forecast

According to the Central Bank of Malta's latest forecasts, the outlook for economic growth is expected to remain robust with GDP growth projected at 3.8% in 2026, 3.6% in 2027 and 3.8% in 2028. Growth is expected to be led by private consumption which is projected to continue to grow at a brisk pace. Compared to the Bank's previous projections, the
