President appoints one judge and three magistrates
Charmaine Galea has been promoted from magistrate to judge, and three others have been appointed as magistrates, following public calls to fill the judicial positions. Galea was appointed magistrate in 2013 and came within a whisker of being appointed judge last October, when the last round of new judges were appointed. She was among 12 candidates
